ABSTRACT

At Footscray High School, Federica and Max actively experiment in the classroom to discover the most effective teaching strategies. They invite you to experience what their students find to be the most engaging way of learning Italian: role-play. In this session, we will explore a range of approaches to implementing role-play activities in the classroom. Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in a fun, small-group dramatic activity. Join us for an interactive and light-hearted session!

Max Tosi and Federica Mancusi

Massimiliano “Max” Tosi is Languages Area Leader at Footscray High School. After leading CLIL programs at Gladstone Park and Thornbury High, he now supports a new CLIL pathway linked to Footscray Primary’s Italian bilingual program. Originally from Lake Garda, enjoys linguistics, history, rural life, and soccer.

Federica Mancusi is an experienced Italian language teacher who has worked in both government and Catholic primary schools across Melbourne and regional Victoria. Originally from Naples, she proudly supports her hometown soccer team and never says no to great pizza. After five years in bilingual primary programs, she now brings her passion for Italian to secondary students.
