In this session we will analyze how our students' abilities to learn a foreign language change depending on the different stages of their  psychological development, both cognitive and emotional.
Practical indications of teaching activities compatible with the different stages of development will be provided, in accordance with recent updates by scholars, especially Italian or European ones.


Stefania Filippi  is a former italian-born  Community Psychologist in charge of the Intercultural Services for immigrants in an Italian Council, including teaching Italian as a second language to foreign children and establishing a specific Service to reduce drop-off rate and improving education results among young immigrants in Italian schools. She  published, on Italian local or national professional journals and books, articles about teaching L2 and Interculturality.

In Melbourne, she gained 4 years of experience as an Italian assistant, both in a public high school and in a Catholic primary school.
