ABSTRACT

In this session, the VCAA Languages Unit will introduce new resources that are designed to support teachers of Primary Italian to plan and implement Version 2 of the Victorian F-10 Curriculum: Italian.

Kathleen Duquemin & Catherine Bryant

Kathleen is a Program Manager in the Languages Unit at the VCAA. She holds a Master's Degree in Applied Linguistics and post graduate degrees in Education and Languages. She has taught Japanese and English Language, from F-12, and has presented at conferences across Australia and internationally in the areas of Curriculum and technology in language learning.

 

Catherine Bryant is the Languages Unit Manager at the VCAA. In this role, she works on various projects that support the development and implementation of languages curricula in Victoria from Foundation to 12. Catherine has taught secondary Japanese and Humanities in a number of Melbourne schools. Catherine completed her PhD in 2016 in the Department of Education and Social Sciences at Swinburne University of Technology. Her research was published as a book in 2016 by Australian Scholarly Publishing and is called "From Small Beginnings: The Victorian School of Languages."
