European Languages Festival for Primary and Junior Secondary Students
Date: 21 May 2012 from 10am to 2pm for Years 1 to 4 and 22 May 2012 from 10am to 2pm for Years 5 to 7

2012 is the Year of the Brothers Grimm: 200 years ago their fairy tales were first published. The topic of fairy tales fascinates young and old, and has its firm place in the language classroom. Therefore we Europeans decided on using the Grimm year as a reason to stage the first European Language Festival in Victoria – and where else but in the Fairy Park?
The multilingual program includes puppet show, magician, short student and performances of fairy tales. A language trail in Italian has been prepared and will be made available to all through the VATI website. A unit of work is also being prepared for teachers to use pre and post the event. There will also be prizes for the best fairy tale costume (yes, students may come dressed up as fairy tale characters) and much more.
